Hong Kong Music Lover Chinese Orchestra

Established in 1979, the Hong Kong Music Lover Chinese Orchestra aims to promote Chinese music and its rich heritage. Many of its members are recitalists with formal music training and winners of Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. Some of them were selected as ‘Hong Kong Elites’ by the Music Office to tour abroad for performances. The Artistic Director and Principal Conductor is Ho Man-chuen, while the Resident Conductor is Wai Sing-fat.

The Orchestra has been devoted to promoting Chinese music. Apart from organising regular concerts in Hong Kong, it has been invited to perform in other parts of the world, such as the United States, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia and cities in the mainland China. Thus, the Orchestra has established close ties with overseas organisations and cultural sectors.
